Plastiki (http://www.theplastiki.com) pretty much proved that a boat can be successfully built out of plastic bottles.

Imagine the possibilities for backyard boat builders-forget concrete, wood, steel, all of which are costly materials nowadays. Just start saving those bottles, and someday you’ll have yourself a boat!

Stephen, these are truly sound thoughts. We didn’t know until you told us last weekend that you had been involved with Abby pre-trip. I just never had the feeling that she was mature enough for the trip (which is a trip much different than her brother’s as we both know). Let”s not stop our kids from doing, just help them pick the thing that is right for them to be doing at the time. Love to see you and Kathleen getting on an even keel.
